The urgency to scale has sometimes meant security audits were secondary considerations. The recovery time from mistakes is longer. The regulatory environment punishes recklessness.

The unpopular take, then, is this: Web3's next competitive advantage might come from being the ecosystem willing to say "not yet." The projects willing to choose correctness over velocity. The platforms that treat user security as a feature worth shipping slowly for.

Speed will always matter in cryptocurrency. But legitimacy matters more. And legitimacy, ironically, is built through the one thing Web3 has resisted most: strategic patience.
