Bitcoin Magazine Books launched a third-anniversary campaign Friday for Aaron van Wirdum's The Genesis Book, offering a limited Collectors Edition of 333 hand-signed, individually numbered hardcovers.
Each Collectors Edition hardcover comes in an exclusive Genesis Block slipcase. The standard package sells for $221 and includes the book, a limited trading card with Certificate of Authenticity, a collector pin, a sticker sheet, the slipcase and a digital package.
Two one-of-one packages sit outside the standard numbering. Package #1 is priced at $5,000 and package #21 at $2,500. Each includes a matching numbered copy, a one-of-one collector card and the same accessories as the standard package.
Standard collector numbers are assigned in purchase order starting at #2 and skipping #21. Once preorders close, this signed print run will not be reproduced.
Bitcoin Magazine Books also sells a Premium Edition hardcover for $160 with foil stamping, ribbon marker and stained page edges. That edition is not limited, signed, numbered or slipcased and does not include collector accessories or digital files.
A standalone Digital Package at $9.99 delivers the ebook in EPUB and audiobook in MP4 format immediately after purchase.
Physical orders are scheduled to ship in calendar year 2027. Van Wirdum, who discovered bitcoin in 2013 and later led Bitcoin Magazine's editorial desk, frames The Genesis Book as a history of computer scientists, privacy activists and economists who pursued government-independent digital money before the 2008 white paper, covering figures including David Chaum, Wei Dai, Adam Back and Hal Finney.
The campaign is operated by BTC Inc., which publishes Bitcoin Magazine.
